π History
Pugs originated in ancient China, bred as companions for royalty during the Han dynasty.
They were later brought to Europe by Dutch traders in the 16th century.
Pugs became especially popular with European aristocracy, including the House of Orange and Queen Victoria.

Face: Wrinkled, flat ("brachycephalic") with a short muzzle.
Eyes: Large, dark, expressive.
Ears: Either “rose” (small, folded) or “button” (flap covering the ear canal).
